3 to 5 Park View is in the village of Hersham in Surrey. The site was previously occupied by a 10,000ft² commercial building that was outmoded and un-lettable. The site is on the boundary of the main village conservation area and adjacent to a Grade II listed building.
Following SCd’s successful outline application for change of use to residential with the addition of a new penthouse level, a new application was developed for a new build scheme of 14, 2 bed, residential flats. Using the constraints established with the outline scheme SCd designed a scheme that is both contemporary and yet
sympathetic to it context.
The building has two separate lift and stair cores to minimise corridor and circulation space to maximise the size of the units. Each apartment has been designed so that every living space has views over the green and small amenity space. The penthouse level has extensive external terracing which has fantastic views over the
adjoining green and the surrounding area.
Car parking for every unit has been provided underneath the building in the undercroft from which direct access can be gained to each apartment.
The level of finish and specification within the development was kept to the highest level with Villeroy and Boch sanitary fittings being used in the bathrooms and en suites and Poggenpohl units with solid Corian worktops in every kitchen.
Working with Levanter Developments, planning has been achieved under Delegated powers for this residential scheme of 14 contemporary apartments on Farnham Road in the centre of Guildford.
The planning application for Cavendish House, with developer Igloo Developments, has now been granted planning approval. The project incorporates 14 nos 2 bedroom apartments to a high level of specification. Construction is due to start on site during April 2015.
